On the occasion of registering "Shahnameh's millennium" on UNESCO’s calendar of events for 2010, ceremonies will be held to mark the millennium of the creation of ‘Shahnameh’ (Book of Kings), a magnum opus by the renowned classical Persian poet Abolqasem Ferdowsi.

IBNA: The ceremonies will be held by Ferdowsi Foundation, its general manager, Yaser Movahed-far said:" A headquarter is established in UNESCO National Commission which holds "Shahnameh's millennium" celebrations, a longtime wish which is fulfilled today. Moreover another headquarter is launched in Karaj which pursues works of "Shahnameh's millennium".

He added: "Hope that we will hold a cultural decade by the next 2 months and emphasize on Shahnameh throughout Iran. Moreover Ferdowsi Foundation has presented a suggestion to UNESCO on holding a cultural week of "Shahnameh's millennium" which will be accomplished if the budget is provided."

He went on to say that during the 10th session of Shahnameh lectures we unveiled a book by late Mohammad Ayoobi. Unfortunately he is not alive to see his novel's publication.

Beside unveiling “Man of Ever Anxiety”, the foundation presented a testimonial and statue to late Ayoobi's family; moreover they awarded Professor Zia-Udin Hajari with a gift, testimonial and statue for preserving Persian language.

Ferdowsi Foundation has been officially established since 2007.
